INTRODUCTION TO SPORTS LAW (GREECE)
Course Introduction
The course Introduction to Sports law is a four-week open course (every Thursday two hours online), offered by the Academy of Leadership Sciences Switzerland.
The course is designed and delivered by recognized experts in Sports Law. It is being offered as an open course and can be attended by anyone who is, or aspires to get, involved in the industry of sports – including sports administrators, lawyers, sports agents, or intermediaries, current and former athletes, among others.
Course Content
The course covers specific topics on sport-related issues including the national and international regulation of sport, sport governing bodies, national law directly applicable to sport, contracts, sports agents / intermediaries, dispute resolution and other topics.

- Duration of the Course: 4 weeks(every Thursday two hours webinar at 17h00 Greek Time)
- Language: Greek
- Start Date: 5 May 2022
- Study Options 100 % online per Zoom
- Tutorial fees for the whole course: CHF190 to be paid at least one week before the course starts.
- Admission Requirements: Anyone who is, or aspires to get, involved in the industry of sports can enrol for this course.
- Internet access and an email address are required.

Week 1: Introduction to Sports Law (2 hours)

• Regulatory Framework
• National and International regulation of sport and Sports Law
• Good Governance in Sports- The Responsibilities of the State
Week 2: Doping Match Fixing and other Integrity-related Matters (2 hours)
• Sports Law and Ethics
• Anti-doping Rule Violations, Standards and Sanctions
• Match Fixing and Regulatory Issues in Greece and abroad
• Wider Ethics, Integrity and Disciplinary Matters
Week 3: Dispute Resolution in Sport (2 hours)
• Disciplinary matters
• Disputes & differences – private tribunals and Courts
• National Federations vs International Dispute Resolution in Sports (FIFA-CAS):
Comparison, Collective Bargaining
• The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) – an overview
Week 4:Transfers & employment contracts in Football (2 hours)
• Relationship of the athlete with his Agent-Intermediary
• Relationship between the athlete and his club
• Role of the Football Agent/Intermediary
• National and International transfers – an overview
• Sport rights and Image rights
