INTRODUCTION TO SPORTS LAW (FOR NON-LAWYERS)
Course Introduction
The course Introduction to Sports Law (for Non-Lawyers) is a four-week open course (every Monday two hours online), offered by the Academy of Leadership Sciences Switzerland. Whatever industry you are part of today you are in touch with the legal regulation that frames it.
This is especially so for Sports being covered mostly by private sports regulations. But not everyone has a legal background which can make the everyday life more complicated. This is exactly why we are providing this course intended for the non-lawyers.
The course is designed and delivered by recognized experts in Sports Law. It is being offered as an open course and can be attended by anyone who is, or aspires to get, involved in the industry of sports – including sports administrators, scientists involved in sports, employees of national anti-doping organizations, sports federations, Students, current and former athletes, among others. The Course provides an easy taught legal perspective of the industry and is aimed to fill in the gaps of everyone who already is or is aspiring to get involve in the industry.
Course Content
Even though the program lasts 4 weeks it covers main legal aspects related to sport but translated
into the every-day (non-Legal Language). The course covers the general topics on sport-related
issues including the international regulation of sport, sport governing bodies, ethics, contracts,
anti-doping, dispute resolution and other topic

- Study Options 100 % online per Zoom
- Tutorial fees for the whole course CHF 490 to be paid at least three days before the course starts.
- Admission Requirements Anyone who is, or aspires to get, involved in the industry of sports can enroll for this course.
- Internet access and an email address are required.

Week 3: Dispute Resolution in Sport (2 hours)
• Disputes & differences – private tribunals and the Courts
• The Court of Arbitration for Sport
• Disciplinary matters
Week 4: Anti-doping (2 hours)
• Regulatory framework, WADA
• Anti-doping Rule Violations
• Sanctions
• Disciplinary process

The Academy of Leadership Sciences Switzerland (ALSS) is an international education institution that offers continuing education, further education, and post graduate advanced education courses, workshops and programs focusing on advanced studies in Leadership and Management.
